Introduction
Marriage began in a garden. It was peaceful, harmonious, romantic, and intimate. Adam and Eve were a
match made in heaven. They were naked and unashamed. God said it was good.
Then again, they had no
mortgage payments on the garden, no crying kids, no teenagers, no credit cards, no laundry, and no in-laws
showing up on their doorstep uninvited. Adam and Eve had plenty of time together, no time-clocks to punch,
no deadlines to meet, no demanding bosses to please. Their cars never broke down; there were no dirty dishes
from the night before. There were no younger women competing for Adam’s attention. And there were always
plenty of flowers for Adam to gracefully brush against Eve’s soft skin as he stared into her adoring eyes.
No wonder their marriage was good!
Now, if we just can look at reality, perhaps we can find the garden in
the midst of real life!
